Pool deck resurfacing is the process of repairing and recoating a worn concrete or paver deck so it’s structurally sound, slip-resistant and cool underfoot again. It’s not a cosmetic patch — a proper resurfacing job seals hairline cracks before they spread, rebuilds low or spalled sections, and applies a new textured finish that’s bonded to the slab.

The process itself runs in stages: pressure-wash and degrease the slab, grind and patch cracks and low spots, prime, apply the base coat, then the textured cool-deck topcoat and sealant. Afternoon storms, humidity and daily chlorine splash-out drive water into porous or cracked concrete, which accelerates spalling and feeds algae growth.
Lighter, reflective pigments and a textured profile keep surface temperatures noticeably lower than bare or dark-coloured concrete — often the difference between a deck you can cross barefoot at noon and one you can't.
